本校は、藩校明倫館の流れを汲んで，明治３年に創設された歴史のある学校です。城下町，萩の中心に位置し，数々の史跡と豊かな自然に囲まれた恵まれた環境の中で，生徒たちは高校生活を満喫しています。生徒のほとんどが進学を志して勉学に励む一方で，学校行事，部活にも積極的に取り組み，多くの成果を挙げています。　

Hagi High School was founded in 1870, following the dissolution of the Hagi Domain School, Meirinkan.  It is located in the center of Hagi City, in the heart of the Hagi Castle Town.  In this location, students can enjoy their school life, surrounded by many historic sites and a rich natural environment.  Students study hard, aiming to go to college.  They actively take part in school events and their co-curricular activities.  As a result, they have gained recognition, and won many prizes.
